Weekly Log 13: 23rd January

GOOD NEWS (At Last) I have a friend who is a photographer, who has a studio in Harlow Town Centre and he has agreed to let me use his photo studio to take photographs of my mum and clive for my magazine. Which I have put into a Flipagram and have posted on my Blog.

Where I am with my Music Magazine

So far I have managed to work on my front cover. I would like to change the back ground image as the Mise - en - Scene is making the image look unprofessional. But this is where I am so far and there is still a lot to do and work on. Especially the main image.

Location, Costume, Actors (LCA)

These are my decisions on LCA's and why I choose them.
Location
I chose to shot my photos in a house as my target audience will able to relate to the performers a lot more and they can feel like they get to know them throughout the article.

Costumes
The performers will be wearing casual clothes to make it as relaxed as possible and so the readers can relate to the performers and see that they are not celebs and they are just normal people. As in my pitch I said I would not be using celebrities.

Actors

I chose to use my Mum and Clive

. As they perform at our local acoustic club they were a easy choice and as I know them I can write about them more easily. Also I was able to organise things more easily and get things done quickly.

Shot List

This is the shot list for my first photoshoot.
Front Cover: A member of the duo will be on a chair while the other is leaning on the shoulder with the guitar in between them. This will create the effect that they are a group and will tell the audience that they perform together.

Contents Page Shot: The duo will be sitting next to each other looking directly at the camera with the guitarist with the guitar. This will tell the audience that they are serious about music.

Shot 1: A shot of the duo together for article photos.

Shot 2: A individual shot of the lead singer to establish the singer.

Shot 3: A shot of the guitarist to establish the last member of the duo.

Front cover 2: a shot of them back to back looking at the camera with the guitarist holding a guitar.

Front Cover 3: a shot of the singer standing and the guitarist on a stall with the guitar.

I will use performance photos which I have taken to give more real life photos and show the audience that they perform.

Guitarist Magazine Research

Here is the third magazine I have researched.

Acoustic Magazine research

This is the second analysis of a music magazine to help me create a music magazine.

Q music magazine

This is the first one of my research tasks in which we analysed a music magazine.

Market Research

I conducted market research in order to understand what my target audience would want in an acoustic magazine.
My audience will want to see information about current guitars. They want to know how other performers cope with the same issues that they do when the readers perform. They do not want to know about the celebrities because they are not interested in there gossip. They want to read about new acoustic performers rather than new celebs.

Weekly Log 12: 16th January

So after my Draft photoshoot, I asked my teacher to take a look at them, she said that the Mise en Scene was wrong and would not be featured in a real magazine. So I think I need to make a bold move. I have a plan.
